Latest update and news - December 14, 2024.
I am in the process of moving and no longer have my glass studio available since it was in my backyard. I am currently looking for a building I can use for a new studio, but the pickin's in the Pigeon Forge - Gatlinburg area where I live are both slim and expensive. So at this point I am out of production and do not know when, or even if, I'll have a place to make glass again. I'm trying to remedy that situation, but who knows...

Also, I changed domain hosts a little while back and doing so broke a number of things and caused the website to stop working for a little while. It likely still isn't working completely, although I've tried to check everything and reinstall any pages/photos that are missing. If you run into any bad links or missing photos, please let me know.

Thank you,
Brad

Glass penholders, handmade the old fashioned way - from scratch.
I start with sand, soda ash, lime, and a few other chemicals, formulate, mix, and melt the glass in a furnace I designed and built myself. Then I make the penholders.
As a customer said to me recently, "It doesn't get any more handmade than that."

All penholders are $35.00 each, with free Priority Mail shipping to anywhere in the USA.
Orders of 3 or more pieces receive a 10% discount. (Paypal may not correctly subtract the discount. If not, I will send the proper refund.)

With Christmas fast approaching, if you are a Tennessee Volunteers fan
you may want to also take a look at my other website, Tennesseeornaments.com.

Because my stock is constantly changing, I may be out of some colors pictured or have other colors in stock that aren't shown on the website.
So it is safest to check with me prior to ordering - brad@penholdercentral.com

Rainbow Metallic glass penholders

The rainbow metallic penholders consist of a metallic looking surface on a dark colored base glass.
The "random dark" base colors are dense enough to look essentially black unless viewed against very strong backlighting.
The actual base glass color used in the "random dark" pieces may be any one of several different very dense, dark colors that effectively appear black.
The true color could be an extremely dense green, blue, amber, red, or purple.

The light cobalt blue background color is apparent under normal lighting, and unsurprisingly, looks blue.

Agate glass penholders

Limited edition agate glass penholders

08/20/2023: Currently out of stock.
The agate glass used for these penholders is colored primarily with silver. Because of the wide variety of color effects, every one is different.
And due to the unusual way that these react to light, they will look best under bright light, such as a bright white LED or bright, natural sunlight.
The colors will look much more subdued under fluorescent lighting or standard room lighting.
Please inquire about availability prior to ordering.

***************

Robin the Wondercat decides he needs his own penholder.

Robin has just finished gently sliding a penholder out of the group and over to the box that he has also claimed for himself.

"Uh oh. It looks like they spotted me."

"Oh good, they're laughing. I guess that means I can keep it. But I'd better keep my paw on it, just in case."
